Have You Been Truly Listening to Your Body?
This past week, I had an experience that reminded me of something so important.
As a therapist, I spend a lot of time helping others reconnect with their bodies. But even though I practice self-care, sometimes I forget to check in with myself in the same way.
During school half-term, I was juggling work, family, and study—but I also went to London to retake my kinesiology course. As part of the training, I had a session with my teacher.
And what she found completely surprised me.
I didn’t feel tired or overwhelmed.
But my body told a different story.
What I Discovered About Myself
Through the session, my teacher found that:
⚖️ My eating habits weren’t supporting my well-being.
- I thought I was making healthy choices—I have porridge for breakfast, I don’t eat chocolate, and I use cacao powder instead.
- But my body showed that cacao wasn’t right for me at this moment.
🌿 I needed support for deep fatigue & emotional overwhelm.
- Even though I didn’t feel exhausted, my body was asking for Olive and Elm flower remedies—which help with deep tiredness and emotional overload.
💊 Some supplements I was taking were no longer needed—but my body showed me what I did need instead.
It was a wake-up call.
Even When We Think We Know Ourselves, There’s More to Discover
✔️ We get used to our daily tension, assuming it’s normal.
✔️ We push through stress without realizing its impact.
✔️ We don’t always notice what our body is really trying to tell us.
And this is exactly why receiving a session from a therapist can be so powerful.
