Reclaiming Balance: Embracing Gentle Movement and Self-Compassion in Midlife

Illustration of a relaxed midlife woman enjoying gentle movement, symbolizing self-care and emotional healing through holistic practices.

How has your week been?
Mine’s been a reflective one. I realised recently that I was pushing my body harder than it wanted — trying new core exercises, chasing strength, but it didn’t feel right. My body felt misaligned. I felt tired. And honestly… I didn’t enjoy it.

I’ve returned to the gentle movements that do work for me — slow, kind, nourishing exercises like Feldenkrais and mindful core work. It reminded me:

💛 “Over 40, we create our new body not by pushing, but by releasing, relaxing, restoring — and then strengthening.”

🧘‍♀️ Reclaiming Strength Through Softness

Many of my clients (and myself included) are over 40 — juggling work, parenting, hormonal changes, and life transitions.

This stage of life isn’t about pushing harder. It’s about slowing down, tuning in, and listening to what truly nurtures you.
That might be:

✔️ Gentle core exercises like Feldenkrais (my personal go-to!)
✔️ Supportive therapies that release tension and emotional weight
✔️ Letting go of pressure and honouring your body’s rhythm

Strength isn’t always loud. Sometimes, strength looks like softness, stillness, and permission to pause.

🌿 Your Body Deserves a Personalised Approach

We are all different — especially in midlife. Your stress levels, your cycle, your lifestyle, even your blood type all influence the kind of movement and support that’s best for your body.

For example:

  • Type A: often benefits from calming, steady-state movement like Pilates or yoga.

  • Type O: thrives with more dynamic exercise like strength training or cardio.

But more than anything, the most powerful form of movement is the one you actually enjoy. That’s the secret to consistency and wellbeing.

As a Systematic Kinesiology Student, I help you discover what truly supports your unique body, energy, and emotional needs — whether that’s through movement, nutrition, or emotional healing.

💫 Now Offering Emotion Code Sessions – In-Person & Proxy

I’m so happy to announce:
I’m now a certified Emotion Code Practitioner!

The Emotion Code is a gentle energy therapy that helps release trapped emotions from the body. These emotional blocks can often cause physical discomfort, emotional overwhelm, fatigue, or simply a sense of being “stuck.”

✨ It’s ideal for you if you:

  • Feel emotionally drained or energetically low

  • Are carrying emotions from stress, grief, or past events

  • Are ready to feel lighter, calmer, and more connected to yourself

🌐 Sessions are available in person or as a 30-minute proxy healing — meaning you don’t need to attend live. I simply tune into your energy field remotely and clear what’s ready to release.

🎉 Summer Offer:
✨ 10 Pounds off all Emotion Code sessions until the end of August!
(Proxy session £55 → £45)
