“How Healing Begins: Shifting Your Energy to Restore Balance”

We often think of disease as something purely physical, but in my experience as a holistic therapist, I’ve come to see that healing is far deeper than addressing symptoms alone. As I listen to the Tapping Solution Pain Relief Summit and reflect on my clients—many of whom are facing challenges like cancer or chronic pain—one thing has become clear: healing starts to happen when we begin to move our energy.

What is Energy?

In holistic health, “energy” isn’t just an abstract concept. It’s the sum of how we live—how we think, the words we speak, what we eat, and how we respond to the emotions we experience. When there’s imbalance or stress in these areas, it creates blockages in our energy flow. These blockages can eventually manifest as physical illnesses, emotional pain, or overall dis-ease.

How Stress Manifests Disease

Stress is one of the most common triggers for energy imbalance. We all experience stress in some form, whether we’re aware of it or not. Even if you think, “I don’t feel stressed,” the truth is that stress is present in subtle ways—through your perceptions, daily challenges, or unmet emotional needs.

When stress is left unchecked, it puts the body into a constant state of tension, flooding it with stress hormones that weaken the immune system, disrupt digestion, and exhaust the body. Over time, this leads to the manifestation of disease. The good news is that healing is possible once we recognize the energy imbalances in our lives.

How to Shift Your Energy for Healing

  1. Shift Your Mindset
The way you think has a direct impact on your healing journey. Negative thoughts like fear, hopelessness, or frustration create blockages that prevent energy from flowing freely. By shifting your mindset towards openness, gratitude, and acceptance, you start to create an environment in which your body can heal.
Tip: Try replacing thoughts like “Why is this happening to me?” with “What can I learn from this experience?”
  2. Change Your Language
The words we speak, both to ourselves and others, carry energy. Phrases like “I’m broken” or “I can’t heal” reinforce the very patterns that keep us stuck. Instead, speak kindly and affirmatively to yourself. Your language has the power to shape your healing.
Tip: Use affirmations like “I trust my body’s ability to heal.”
  3. Nourish Your Body
Food is energy. What you eat directly affects your body’s ability to heal. When you nourish yourself with whole, nutrient-rich foods, you give your cells the fuel they need to repair and restore. On the other hand, processed and junk foods deplete your energy and contribute to inflammation.
Tip: Incorporate more fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains into your diet and notice how your energy shifts.
  4. Honor Your Feelings
Emotional energy is just as important as physical health. When we suppress or ignore our feelings, they get stored in the body, leading to blockages that can result in illness. Practices like EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) help release stuck emotions and restore the flow of energy.
Tip: Take time each day to check in with yourself emotionally. Allow yourself to feel whatever comes up and let it pass through without judgment.

Healing Begins with Awareness

The journey of healing starts when you begin to notice where your energy is blocked or out of balance. By becoming aware of your thoughts, words, diet, and emotions, you can start to make small shifts that move you towards health and vitality. It’s not about eliminating stress or solving every problem overnight, but about making consistent, positive choices that support your body’s natural ability to heal.

Remember, healing is a journey, and every small step you take helps you move toward balance. Whether it’s shifting your mindset, nourishing your body, or learning to release emotional energy, each action invites healing into your life. I invite you to explore these practices and begin to shift your energy today.
